I Think This One's a Manbug

I get that Americans call beetles, bugs. But how do you explain that we call those wee insects ladybirds?

Zoomie: He might even be a Lord Bug!

Morgan: Oh, we call most beetles beetles. But ladybird? That's an old US president's wife's name.

Anonymous: Yeah, that, and he won't give up the remote.

Monkey Gland: Yes.
But I am wounded by your inconstancy. {sulk}

Yesterday a lady bug flew through my open door and landed on my sofa. I'm pretty sure it's taken up residence now, because I keep seeing the darn thing everywhere...

Sweet Bird: I'm sure it's a good thing. It flew in on the first day of spring!
