Zen and the Art of Blog Maintenance

Monkey Gland at JamFaced was tagged for a meme the other day, in a comment left on his blog with a link to the meme rules. I was curious about what it might be, but I considered it his own business, so I didn't follow the link.
Didn't have to, as it turns out. Lovely MG tagged me next.
It's easy. You just go look through your blog archives for your 23rd post, and pull out the fifth sentence. Then you contemplate it while listening to the sound of one hand clapping; very good, Grasshopper!
I haven't looked at my old stuff for ages (if a five-month-old blog can be considered ages), and I found some of the old posts laughable (mostly in a good way).
Until I got to the 23rd post, which was titled "Too Mad to Eat."
Here's the fifth — and final — sentence:

"Enough to ruin anybody's appetite."

You're welcome to go see what that was all about here.

So, who's next? I choose mrs d at Belly Timber, Tana at small farms, Kalyn at Kalyn's Kitchen, Susan at Farmgirl Fare, and Brett at In Praise of Sardines. And I'm not sending notices, so if they don't play, it's because they're not reading this... boo-hoo.
Rules:
  1. Delve into your blog archive.
  2. Find your 23rd post (or closest to).
  3. Find the fifth sentence (or closest to).
  4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions. Ponder it for meaning, subtext or hidden agendas...
  5. Tag five people to do the same.

How exciting! No one has ever tagged me before. I didn't take it personally because I just don't have time (or even a digital camera yet) to do all the fun food blog events the rest of you guys seem to find time for. I will for sure get on it for this one though.

Oh dear. I had an e-mail list that I managed before I started my blog, so I fear my early posts (transfering from the blog to e-mail) may have been rather boring. At any rate, it will be fun to see.

K: It will be fun. I snorked a little at my old stuff.
Can't wait!
(Get the camera!!)
PS: Do you ever look at Gluten-Free Girl? She's also a teacher. Tell her I sent you. Wait -- are you the same person?)

Cookiecrumb--

No, she's not me. But thanks for mentioning me. And I'm always excited to meet another teacher online, Kalyn.

I almost tagged you, but... oh, I dunno.
Will you still be my pal?
Oh, hey. Waitaminit: You're tagged! Must participate! How cool is that? (meh)

I won't make a whole post on my blog, because I don't want to bug people on my subscription list with what will surely be the record-winning shortest sentence in the world. I may work this into a subsequent post, though.

Are you ready?

The fifth sentence of my 23rd post consists of two letters and a period: "Go."

"Go." As in, "Go see 'The Real Dirt on Farmer John,'" which was scheduled to play in San Francisco in May.

How Zen is that?

Ooo, I'm jealous of Tana's sentence. So very very zen. Not that mine isn't, but I'll hold off repeating it until I post ... which will be ... ahem... later today... I promise.... with sugar on top.... or maybe chicken feet.

Tana: Too cool. My experience recently, looking at fifth sentences of many posts, is that they're all pithy.
Mrs D: Go!

Hi Cookiecrumb,
I'm reading this so you can stop crying--and start being mad because (as much as I hate to be a party pooper), I am going to decline entering this meme, just as I did the first time I was tagged over the weekend. My 23rd post is a Daily Farm Photo with no text, and I'm not quite sure about this meme in general. Told you I was going to be a party pooper.

On the other hand, I thought your post was rather clever. And I liked that Tana's fifth sentence was 'Go.' Thanks so much for thinking of me, but I'm going to have to work on my pita post instead. . . Yes, it's going to be up VERY soon!
