Oh, now I get it! I wondered who the heck he was?? I do enjoy Anne Hathaway, but wondered who the no-name with her was. Now I know.
Zoomie: You got it from all that silly stuff? Hee. (He's from Palo Alto, which just destroys Palo Alto for me.)
Yes, it was the coyote remark that gave it away. Love your menu, but unless you're giving a party, you and Cranky will be drunk as skunks after 127 whiskey sours.
Zoom: I'm throwing all 127 of them at James.
I had all but forgotten about whiskey sours - haven't had one in perhaps 20 years. A friend used to make them in the blender, and they did go down easily. Maybe I'll make one tonight in your honor.
I have no idea who that is. I'm only vaguely aware that it's Oscar season, since I don't have a TV. I see a fair number of movies, (I presume he's an actor, and, since it's the Oscars, a movie actor, yes?) but that guy just doesn't look familiar. Your impassioned description of the rake almost makes me want to find out who he is. Almost.
Kate: He is the star of 127 Hours, James Franco. I've come to learn he's a pig. Fugettabout him.
Why are we hating James Franco? Did I miss something horrible he said? Liked him in Milk.
Don't waste the whiskey sours on flinging, send 'em over here! Yum. I love an oldy timey cocktail!
Amy: Did you see any of the promos he did for the Oscars with Hathaway? Knocked her to the ground. Eek. And his book is shitty and he's vain, and

Mouse: I'm sticking to Jack Daniel's tonight. xxx
It sounds like Franco is a clone for most of the young actors out there - and a fair number of the young men that I know. I'm sure glad that I'm not young any more; dealing with the pricks in my youth was enough. Anne Hathaway looked gorgeous and was a decent presenter - at least, she was spared the lame jokes that they saddled some of the other presenters with.
But enough about the awards. Whose gown did you like the best? I liked several of them but felt that Winfrey's gown did not do her any justice; that cinched in waist made her chest look like a pair of bombers.
Nancy: I bailed on the Oscars about halfway through! Boooring.
Gowns. Let me be the first to defend (and adore) Mila Kunis's lavender dress. Not my favorite color, but she was retro hot sexy. And! Cate Blanchett's! OMG.
I saw Mrs. Firth's (I'm blanking on her first name) dress this morning and it was lovely - all made from recycled older dresses.
Zoomie: He has a wife??? My dreams are dashed!
I know, I was disappointed, too. And she just looks _nice_, too, not crazy-Hollywood-snooty. Rats!
Oh you two! He's married to a lovely Italian lady and is apparently very happy. In fact, he's paid tribute to her patience and intelligence in several interviews - along with how his Italian in-laws were very suspicious of him at first. I saw a photo of their villa in Italy (Tuscany?) and he looks like he lives a dream life. Oh, and he's got at least two kids, one from a previous relationship and one with the Italian lady.
Nancy: The whore! Previous relationship? He is capital-F finished, in my book. Wah! Boo hoo. (And, I'd heard he was gay, to complicate things.)
