Turns out it is called "Dippy Bird."

Well, I can't help thinking Gen. Stanley McChrystal looks like a Dippy Bird.

He does indeed, you should be inordinately pleased you clever clogs. I loved those drinking birds when I was wee, I'd watch for hours apparently.

My Grandma Denny had a dipping bird, and we loved it.

When our lives were tied to LOOK Magazine, we had to pass a strange, narrow little stationery/gifts/etc. shop to the right of the doors of the LOOK Building in Manhattan. In the window, for YEARS, there was a line of those drinky birds bobbing and bobbing and every time I took the kids to the photo studio for any reason we had to stop and watch them and tell them -- once again -- that we were not going to buy one. They were a sort of guardian distraction that drove me crazy. I haven't seen one/any forever -- but that memory came back, thanks to you!

BK: Sally, I don't know how it came to me, but I couldn't get the idea out of my head. Then I searched for photos and was even MORE amazed how much they resemble each other.
