First Tomato, Yah!!

Mid June. Tomato plants have been in the ground for about a month.
They must have really wanted to grow, because look, this is the earliest first tomato I've ever picked (from the mouth of a miniature dog who wanted it for himself).
It's a teensy-weensy tomato, grown on a midget plant called Tiny Tim. The plant has attained, oh, maybe eight inches in height. And yet it is already covered with little globes. It's a toy plant; it will probably poop out if I forget to wind the key or change the batteries.
But it's always fun to get your first tomato, and your first tomato is always a cherry tomato.

Your doggie likes tomatoes. Mine will have nothing to do with them.

Okay, serious jealousy! Juliet is only just shading to yellow, not yet red! Tomato envy.

Oh, come on! Really? I live in Michigan and you just had to post that! It's barely stopped snowing here. hee hee. I'm just jealous, that's all. I do have some chives.

Greg: This doggie just thinks they're little red balls, though I did have a dog once who ate cherry tomatoes off the vine. "Look!" he seemed to be saying. "They DO grow on trees!"

Zoomie: Juliet is very, very close. Tim is simply supercharged.

Italian Dish: Snowing?! Egad. Hey, blessings on your chives. Anything you grow tastes better, in so many ways.

Natalia: To be fair, there was only the one ripe little tomato. We cut it in half and shared it. :D

Congratulations, it's a beautiful tomato. I the Bean likes tomatoes then your crop is as doomed as mine.

Showoff!

Nah, really. Enjoy.

Tomaaaatoooes.

Mouse: Bean is not interested in anything from the garden except parsley leaves. He might eat a sliver of pear, but I'd have to peel and slice it for him.

Fast: Global warming, I tell you! Freaky.

Kalyn: You're right on track (and you've been otherwise preoccupied, to say the least).

Heather: That's very funny. Exclamation point.

Want to go to Napa Chefs market thursday early evening? We are going to check it out. I know it will be great. Downtown Joe's is a Microbrewery to bring your bounty and imbibe. Downtown Napa has lots of food to explore.

Chilebrown: What a great invitation. Thank you. Cranky has trouble walking at the moment; he might have developed a bone spur in his heel. So he's laid up purty much, and we have to say no. :(

Genie: I feel your pain (slurp, gurgle, munch).
Honestly. I WISH you had a plot.

Does Beansprout get to be the 1st tomato taster?

cookiecrumb said...

Lannae: He doesn't like to eat them. Except for the day we were on a road trip, and Cranky and I ate a picnic in the town square somewhere. Bean Sprout started nibbling the tomatoes out of my mouth! Turned out he was starving and wanted dog food.

We had our first cherry tomatoes more or less at the same time!

Always pure joy!

Bewitching: Yay! The floodgates are opening.
