Blogging Ennui

I have not been kidnapped by Twitter or brainwashed by FaceBook. I'm registered at both places, but they strike me as dull as blogging right now.
Could it be spring fever? Or is blogging really over?
Then let me hurry this picture in before the end of March. It's the leftovers of our corned beef (which we brined ourselves, for the second time, and it was stunningly aromatic and flavorful).
A simple corned beef hash. Probably the real reason we make corned beef every March anyway. That, and a couple of Reuben sandwiches.
OK, this was a little more than 140 characters.

le sigh. perhaps it is a bit of spring fever.
feeling it myself, i'm afraid.

I'm feeling it too. It's spring fever, and too much work, and a slowly dawning realization that most popular food blogs are not blogs that I like. "It's not ennui, it's ennyou."

I understand ennui all too well but I'll be here patiently waiting whenever you come back....

that being said.....oh PLEASE bring on spring....

Natalia: I appreciate your perspective, which happens to be mine, and I always appreciate when that happens!

Peter: "Popular food blogs." My lips are sealed.

Sandwich Life: Why don't you pop up and comment more, then? Give me something to live for. :-)

Is you is or is you ennui?

Been missing you but understand all too well how this can happen.

This, too, shall pass.

Kudzu: In the context of "Nobody else is blogging," it almost feels embarrassing to put up a post. If I want to seem cool. Shudder.
Miss you too.

Maybe you could post about boxed mixes and just sit back and watch the fireworks fly? That should tide you over until the ennui subsides.
Me, I'm just hangin' out waiting for morels. Remember your savory bread pudding from last spring? (I wonder if I could get that in a box?)

cookiecrumb said...

Limoncello: You know where the morels are, right? Where the forest fires were last year.
Oh, you mean waiting for them to come to the market? Yeah, me too!
(Imagine, Deborah Madison's Kwikkee-Bake Bredd Puddin'!)
BTW, we have a pantry full of store food (emergency supplies) that needs eatin'. So, clam chowder from a can tonight. Yawn.

I say just post photos of Bean Sprout till you feel otherwise inspired. ;-)

Enui - that's dangerous stuff, you know poor Nevil died of it don't you?!

i am standing right there with you; or rather, i should say, slumped a little...perhaps it is a spring hibernation period?

I think Twitter is kind of fun. I'd sure like to see what YOU would write! Perhaps you need a vacation. Airfare is cheap, Hawaii is in bloom. Free room with me and my foster dog Alii. (Moochie died last Thursday. End of an era; all three gone now.) Tweet me babe. ktnodots

Boredom and lack of interest. Been feeling it lately but thought it was old age. Enjoy reading your blog so don't abandon ship.

My husband set me up on Facebook. He's addicted, I'd rather read a cookbook. Spring is here as far as I'm concerned, great weather and farmers stands are opening...

Hey, at least you are cooking. Supper for me tonight consisted of a bag of crisps and bottle of beer - for not the first time in recent weeks.
You are definitely not alone, so don't you dare stop inspiring those of us who are really in the culinary doldrums.

Just wait 'til the first produce of spring comes into the market - you'll be back experimenting like mad. Luckily, there are no rules - you can take a vacation if you want. I'm with Melissa, let's see the Sprout in his spring finery!

Melissa: I would love to do that, if only he'd sit still for a haircut. Any day now, I promise.

Mouse: Erm. Nevil who?

Pea: Slumped? I'm half the day (and all the night) on a very comfortable bed. Sudoku, KenKen, magazines...

KT: I send you loving hugs for your Moochie. I'll see you over in birdland. (tweet)

Greg: And I like reading yours! So keep it up.

Mrs. L: Good for your husband. I'm trying to get mine to give it a try, but he's not enthusiastic.
Spring? It's tickling over toward summer, now!

Judith: I had a bag of popcorn last night. Couldn't face opening the can of chowder... too difficult.

Zoomie: Let's see that Cora, too! Bandage and all, poor girlie.

man, dont worry , its not just spring , its autumn too! Blogger block is happenning all over the place, both hemispheres (and not just my brain). something in the air...there's something weirdly stressful about blogging block...

If you didn't blog I would be unlikely to have ever met you, and what a missing that would be! I don't want to lose you! That being said, everyone needs a break, a refresthment and some encouragement to come back sometimes. I love your perspective!

cookiecrumb said...

Kel: Ah, yes, the *other* hemisphere. I guess this is a slow brain period, where we're gathering all our mental resources to face the next big thing. Winter. Or summer.
Hee.

Anna: I take inspiration from your daily jots. Sigh. Yes, I'll get back in the saddle.

Zoomie said...

No bandages, just a boatload of stitches and a vaguely punk-rocker haircut. Not appetizing, but she seems to be healing.

cookiecrumb said...

Good! This is probably a great sign at a critical point. I hope.

Boy, can I relate. I felt it all last month and it's barely letting up. Here's hoping we both find our way out of this rut.

From the The Gashlycrumb Tinies,
go here http://wuff.me.uk/gorey/P11.html !

cookiecrumb said...

Tammy: I don't even take pictures anymore. If I do take a decent picture, I might take the trouble to blather a few paragraphs. Maybe blogging is so 2005.

Mouse: Oh! Thank you. You are literate and learned, and I need a reading coach.

cookiecrumb said...

Nevil died of ennui.

Ms Brown Mouse said...

I intend to go the way of Zillah, round 90 or so!

Zoomie said...

Cookiecrumb and Morgan, I became educated, too. Very funny - thanks.

cookiecrumb said...

Mouse: You lost me. Again.
