This is Bean Sprout in his chili pepper costume.
Bean Sprout is ashamed of this photo, which he morbidly still remembers, even though it was taken a long, long time ago.
Much to Bean Sprout's delight and mental well-being, he has outgrown the costume (but I still have it, which is... scary!).
In unrelated news, the SF Chronicle's wine section today had a small article about a French Camembert, imported by affineur Hervé Mons and available only at Whole Foods. The writer raved so much about its heady mushroominess that I sent Cranky to the store at opening time. He's not back yet, so I don't know if I got a trick or a treat.

Poor Bean Sprout. How long did he spend in therapy after that?
Dagny: He still lets me dress him in a striped sweater on cold days. And on colder days, he has a natty, purple "down" jacket.
Fun to see the Sprout again, even if it's minus his dignity. How is the little guy doing?
I'm trying to work out whether it's better to put a costume on a 10 week old St. Bernard or wait until he's 240 pounds and slobbering because I get the feeling I'm only getting one shot at this.
Zoomie: He would like a visit from you!
Are you in Hawaii?
Alecto: Do it now!! While you have the upper-body strength advantage. (He is SO cute.)
Poor bean sprout, I hope he realises how much joy he brings to everyone, especially when he manages to wear a costume like that with dignity!
Nope, not yet - I'll see you tomorrow! Is the Sprout coming, too?
Yeah, but he can still keep his dignity in a sweater or a jacket. I think I may have finally found the perfect sweater pattern. Does Bean Sprout have a favorite color?
Jennywenny: Dignity tattered. But the truth is, NOTHING bothers him. Machines, noise, probably even vacuum cleaners (but I wouldn't know because I never vacuum). Great kid.
Zoomie: Yay! (Nah, gonna leave the 7-lb. tot at home. Too heavy to lug.)
Dagny: His favorite color is stripe.
ohmigoshthat'ssocuteican'tstandit!
happiest of halloween to you and gee I hope the crankster came through with some lovely stinky cheese for you
...I am left with a question: Bean Sprout outgrew something? How is this possible when he is so tiny!
And, of course, so cu-uuuuute! eeeee!
El: Happy Spook Day to you too! Didn't get the cheese; next week, says the store. So I guess it's Mars Bars for supper. Mini.
Melissa: That little fat-ass. But! The reason he outgrew something is that it was an Extra-Extra-Small. Like baby clothing. He's still pretty teeny.
I trust it was a treat not a trick - booo!
Morgan: Everything these days is a treat. Even the rain.
oh he's just so cute!
Bean Sprout is our hero.Mojo and Oscar say hello.
Anna: Fluffalicious!!
ChileBrown: Arf arf!
beansprout looks hot!
I made soft and flexible batwings as well as a fleecy harness for my orange tabby two years ago. Black wings, orange cat, does it get more Hallowe'en than that?
And then I thought....I am That Woman. The one who makes costumes for her cat. That was the end of that.
Oh.. i want to hear more about that camembert. Interesting!
Cute doggy outfit. hehe :-)
Sam: He's a little firecracker.
Tina: I know. I have stories, too. Eww.
Mr. Zen: I can't get the exact url to load, but go here, and look at the cheese column for Oct. 31. I wasn't able to taste it yet; hoping Tuesday. :)

Bean Sprout - Cutie! Do tell about the cheese when you eat it. Also, is it at every WF, including Nashville, or only in foodie territory such as S.F.
Lannae: It's hard to tell from the article if it's just California or all WFs. Jeez, go find out!! :D
This is my first time seeing bean sprout.
So.
CUTE.
I want to pick him up and snuggle him- whether he likes it or not.
WUUF!
I love him whatever her wears!
Brittany: He doesn't even like for me to snuggle him; he's a man's man. But oh. What love.
ChrisB: I am SO glad you got to meet my little scruffy boy.
