Count the Black Buttons

Bean Sprout sure lets me know when he's cold.
I would think with all that fluffy fur he'd never get chilly, but yesterday in the garden, he began to shiver. (I was out there weeding, in a pleasantly steamed-up state.)
I brought him indoors and covered him with Cranky's down vest. It made him and his little pal very happy.
Shortly after he stopped shivering, I found his goofy striped sweater in a cold closet, warmed it by sitting on it for a while, and put in on him.
He slept all night in it, too. He thinks the sweater is a hug.

Poor Bean Sprout. I mean I have been walking around proclaiming, "It's freezing." When I made that statement over the phone to my uncle in Denver, he was quick to correct me.

Does Bean Sprout need more sweaters? Because I could probably knit one up real quick...

What a poppet, and he's right, a jumper (sweater), especially the hand-knitted-with-love variety IS a hug.

He thinks it's a hug... Oh my goodness... that is just adorable. xox

I think Bean Sprout needs a Bean Sproutess to keep him warm.

If Bean Sprout isn't the cutest dog on earth, I'd like to see the cuter one! He even _looks_ cold in the picture, and I know how he feels! It's a brrrrger out there!

Dagny: Smart, gorgeous, and she knits too? OMG.

Stacie: One of these days I'll post the impossibly cute puppy photo (that when I showed it to a friend, he said "No doggie is that cute!").

Morgan: You and Dagny are right. I've got to quit dressing him in polyester.

Jennifer: It's like a big tube sock with armholes. Snug as a hug.

Chilebrown: I would love for Bean Sprout to have a girlfriend.

Zoomie: When you notice your own pet shivering, you feel like such a bad mom. He looks a bit perturbed in the photo, doesn't he?

CEF: He's like a toy we have to feed.

Doesn't polyester make his fur all stand uppy with the static?

How utterly adorable! If Bean Sprout is still feeling a bit nippy, he's more than welcome to take Mr Woofy's shedding winter coat - really, it'd be our collective pleasure!

Anna: He's cute! He eats! He poops!

Morgan: Oh. Actually, it's probably acrylic, but same thing, right? No, he's just all calm and shaggy.

Ellie: So we think we've done this great thing by getting a dog that doesn't shed... Only now we know we have to keep trimming his hair. If it isn't one thing, it's the other.
Thanks for the generous offer from Mr. Woofy, but no thanks. LOL

What kind of dog is Bean Sprout? I'm interested in the breed. :-)

Wendy: He's a Maltese. An extra cute one. They're always beautiful, but Bean Sprout is blessed with a cute "doll face" (i.e. short snout), and his tears don't turn his fur rust-colored around the eyes, like so many other Malties. Plus he's ultra-dinky.
Do your shopping carefully.
Whoever you get, you'll love.

Poor Bean Sprout, I know how he feels our second day in London was pretty cold and I didn't have a warm stripy sweater! I'm sending him a few more hugs.
Happy New Year to you, Cranky and Bean Sprout x
