My Friday

This is what my day looked like.
A little winter.
A little spring.
The drugstore in the strip mall where I shot this picture was selling sacks of gardening soil alongside firewood. Seasonal collision.
There were also plants for sale; a good sign of things to come. The only edibles were parsley and oregano; fine.
I've got a couple of packets of seeds I'm planning on getting into the ground any day now. (Peas and chard. Good spring plants, and they should come up, ready to eat, soon!)
Hope the sky stays pretty.

I am tired of the rain although I know we need it. And the good thing about the weather today was that the kids were able to go outside at recess. Crap! That reminds me. I forgot to take my weekly turn on the monkey bars.

I think this picture is the best one ever. Cranky, move over!

I love Peas. I just want to brag about some italian pole peas that I planted last November. They are about 5 feet tall and they are flowering. I should be harvesting in a couple of weeks. Pass the Peas Please and Visualize Whirled Peas. Peace, Paul

it was beautiful, wasn't it. The clouds have been very watchable the last few days.

Dagny: It's been a dry winter, but not a drought. Those kids *need* to monkey around out there. Us too, I guess. :D

PE: Oh, what a compliment! Thank you. Of course, it was Cranky who spotted the cloud formation and asked if I had my camera...

Chilebrown: Cool! This will be my first time. Peas, doll.

Catherine: Dare we say auspicious? Sometimes it's so clear how primitive religions were invented.

That sky is psychedelic.

I love seeing all the different cloud formations You've captured the sun's rays so beautifully it's a lovely photo.

SFMike: It's my first sky picture. I thought they were difficult, but -- well, maybe I just got lucky. Oh, and there's this little "enhance" button on my iPhoto app.

ChrisB: You'd laugh if you knew. I was hurrying to get the camera out of my bag, and the cloud kept moving, and pretty soon the sun was nearly exposed. But I got it in the nick of time.

Hi there Cutie Crumb! As for the hot chili sauce used in the brown rice porridge, the sauce is called "hot and spicy sauce" (yes, that the unfortunately non-descriptive title). But the sauce comes in a red label with a picture of a black-haired, motherly figure.

The sauce is sold in a glass jar and looks like red pepper flakes in a red oil. The ingredients (in English) include: prickly ash, onion, chili(es), MSG, and canola oil. (That prickly ash goes a long way!!)

Wow! That photo is stunning, Cookiecrumb! Seriously. And fresh peas? Now, that's what I call a good Friday.

I thought that was a photo you snagged from one of those motivational poster sites.

Hey! That's what you can do to earn a few bucks when the tomato ranch shrivels this summer! Make photos for motivational posters.
