Shortest day of the year, and I'm feeling fine!
I'll let you in on my secret: As we skid into Winter Solstice, I keep telling myself that the shortest day of the year is the beginning of longer days.
Tomorrow will be a longer day. Ahhh.
Happy Winter.
Enjoy the return of light.

Great minds etc as I have been saying something very similar today
Chris: I know. Love to you.
I wish for you a perfectly beautiful Solstice Cookiecrumb, also to Cranky and Bean Sprout. Your photo reminds me of the stillness that is possible.
yes, it's all downhill from here... coasting towards summer again! At least when it gets really really cold here in February, the days are a little longer... now it's dark at 4:30!
MN is NOT a place to be if you are a light addict, and your post rings so true. The worst has passed, and right on time we got some snow to make a white Christmas.
It's odd but I do love the changing of the seasons. It's a certainty anyway, like a sunrise. You can always count on it
Thank you, Moonbear. Warm wishes to you and yours, too.
Stacie: Someday you'll have to explain why you live where you live!
Kate: Yeah, there's comfort in it, even on the shortest day. Happy snow!
Burn something. The only way to celebrate the solstice.
MG: We did. A roaring fire, first of the year. Clever little fake log lasted all evening.
Cookiecrumb... I married a native of this gosh-fosaken place! It's not that bad tho... and winter can be a wonderland...
