Looking good.In other news, I decided today to join the 100-mile Thanksgiving Challenge. It's no challenge, really, here in food-rich Northern California. The only traditional item I'll be doing without is cranberries, and I never liked them anyway. We ordered our local turkey this morning and worked up a menu over celebratory drinks right after we voted.
I mean, I don't think we're celebrating too early.
I think we did it. It's still early in California, but polls are closing in eastern states.
I'm watching. And hoping.

Watching and hoping here too. I like to remain pessimistic until the last moment though. I actually let me guard down in 2004 and allowed myself to believe that Kerry could win.

CNN has just announced that the Democrats won the house. I'm praying it's true.

Indeed, Mrs. D -- MO was just put into our column, VA looks like it's ours (subject to a recount), and I'm cautiously optimistic about MT! If we can just hold on, we can finally have a hope of preventing any more rightwing nuts from getting on the Supreme Court!
After avoiding any room in which I can hear his voice for such a long time, I am up early, coffee mug warming my hands, waiting to listen to Bush this morning at his 7 am Pacific time appearance. We did it!!!
My only regret is that my brother -- a joyously liberal Democrat and a lobbyist who worked for connecting good government and high tech issues, died on Friday and cannot celebrate with us. I'm raising my mug of Kona to him this morning.
PS Oh, no!! We have to wait until larer for the spectacle. Oh, well, at least I heard the good stuff early.
