Leave the Netz Alone

Internet Neutrality. It means you, and I, and that rich old scumbag CEO, have equal access to the Internet.
I'm just a little pooper. I shouldn't have to be forced to use slower access just because I'm not a fat cat. I shouldn't have to pay for what has proven, as a free medium, to be brilliantly successful for all classes of people. I will not be ripping anyone off if I continue to blog for free.
But I might be forced to pay for good access, or be consigned to the slow lane. I might even be dropped from Internet service providers.
Nuh-uh. Not for me.
Go take a look, get involved.
Thank you.

I love how this took off like wildfire today. Flashmob, baby!

(Now if I can just remember I don't have my regular site up today before I click on it for the 20th time to go visit links. Duh.)

Mrs D: So what's the deal on your site? I couldn't even leave a BRAVA comment.
So I'll leave my comment here: Well done. Really.

I went total retro. A day without blogging software. :-)

(Gawd, remember when all websites were like that?)

Responded when haddock opened the subject on knifesedge last week -- and thanks for your participation. I've already heard from DiFi.

Kudzu: I got a totally fake robo-reply from Feinstein. I hate her.
Mrs D: Um, no. I'm new here.
:-P
But, boy, did you make a point with your anti-techiness.

Whooooa. Ms. F. is not a favorite of mine. Just wanted to indicate that at least I know the petitions reached their targets. Chill!

Shuna: Yes, I saw it yesterday. I was (well, we wuz) thrilled and pleased. Thanks.

Now it is the next day and I have heard numerous teases on news shows about the monitoring of EMAIL by NSA. Keep waiting and looking for real evidence (as though I needed it) but am almost hysterical at someone's reading my grandsons' Myspace jargon (obviously sinister code)...Meanwhile I am flailing about in very familiar paranoia which began as long ago as the Fifties when I, as a nascent rad, wrote for a Leftie newspaper (at 13). I am therefore probably more familiar with this crap but no more willing to allow it to happen to us. Yesterday I asked you to chill. Today I insist that you don't!

Kudzu: Well put.

Kudzu, there's some rather suspicious timing that suggests the Big Telcoms have cooperated with the government regarding domestic spying in exchange for the government getting in bed with the Telcoms regarding net neutrality. It's all connected -- in rather heinous ways.
