Royal Organic Pains in the Butt

A couple of weeks ago, when I was at the Point Reyes Station farmers' market, our favorite garlic and potatoes purveyor, Peter Worsley, dropped a sly hint. We had asked him when was the last day of the season for this sweet little collection of farmer/vendors. In telling us it would be the fifth of November, he added, "There will be a special guest; you should come."
How nice. We speculated: Alice Waters, to reinforce the idea of buying locally and seasonally? Joan Baez, to sing in the tiny entertainment tent?
"Can't tell you," said Worsley.
So, tonight I'm watching the news, and — jeez, I won't draw this mystery out much longer. (And I apologize for three posts in one day.)
It's going to be — oh god — The Prince of Wales (Chuck), and The Duchess of Cornwall (Camilla).
Press. Paparazzi. Royal gawkers. Security.
Thanks, Mr. Worsley... But where am I going to park?
Still...
Oh, hell yeah, I'm going.

I'll be there! I love big ears! I'm going to steal him away from that tramp and give him a night of love he'll never forget!

: D

(But do you think you should post this? Do you really want to deal with the stampede?)

Rock on, sister.

Tana: Part of me wants to believe nobody really reads this blog.
Another part of me is trying to book a room in Point Reyes Station the night before.

We read it all right. You must give a full report. I actually have a brother who looks quite a bit like Prince Charles, but I am guessing my brother is a bit nicer.

I can't believe they are going to miss the 400th anniversary of Guy Fawkes night. I wouldn't miss it for the world. In fact, I am flying in the exact opposite direction not only to get away from them but to meet Monkey Gland for a beer. We'll raise a glass to you sad-oes.

Well, it turns out to book a room in Point Reyes Station on a weekend, you have to stay two nights, and that's just too expensive, since I only live 22 miles away. So we're going to get up really early and stake a spot.
Sam, have a fantastic trip. Hugs to MG. (Jealous!)

OI does not require a 2-night stay, FYI. This is really very funny. I can understand the connection, as the Prince is big into the organic farming movement. But I just can't imagine them in little Point Reyes!

when Prince Andrew came a couple of years ago he visited us at ILM and partied at Bix.

Please let me know if you think Camilla is really a horse.

I just want you to know about a conversation I had with my mother tonight.

Jen: I'm coming to LA this weekend to see you.
Mom: But you're going to miss Prince Charles!
Jen: How did you know about that?
Mom: I read "I'm Mad and I Eat".

She reads like 5 blogs and yours is one. How cute is that?

:-)

Jennifer: No way! I'm blown away! Hi, Jen's Mom!! Hi! Jen is my new best friend! (This is too cool.)
Obachan: Too cool!
(PS: Obachan, I'll be needing you to translate something from a picture on my Nov. 1 post, if you happen by. Thanks.)

Thanks for the early warning about the Royals...I told my blog impaired friends
L-O-N-G before most of them were even aware of the Progress of the Royals to the colonies. When it came to pass they thought I was psychic!

Hello, Jen's Mom!
Look, everybody! Jen's Mom is here! Man, this is too cool.
So: Jen's Mom -- Yeah, we just knew, didn't we? You and me.
I'm proud to have provided you with some chops to flaunt among your blog-impaired crowd. (Cranky's been sort of cranky that I hadn't given him credit for cluing me in to the royals' arrival... Let the record show that he is hereby credited.)
(Would the blog-impaired include Jen, perchance? No, I didn't think so. :D)
I wish my mom would drop by!!
