I Needed a Laugh

I've been TOO bummed out to blog. If I'm on the computer, most of the time I'm checking news reports on CNN.
The rest of the time, I'm either watching television or out on the patio guzzling alcoholic somnifacients.
Yes, this is due to the craptacular situation in New Orleans, and our nation's shameful failure to bring about proper relief efforts in a timely manner.
I'm not even into eating. Which is understandable. I'm just doing basic nutritioning; shoved some cheese in my gob for lunch because I couldn't face creativity. Plus, now that the Eat Local challenge has ended, I'm withdrawing somewhat.
On a happier note: I've been communicating with Monkey Gland of Jam Faced -- what a dear. I love "hearing" (cybernetically) his Englishisms. Y'know, Briticisms. Capital! Eh, wot! (I'm a dreadful faker, MG, sorry.) He's helped me play with my blog banner -- huge, grand success on his part for walking me through the code; less so on my part for my naive design, but allow me to tinker.
And in his recent communique, he lifted my spirits with this: Funny. Go see.

Ok, I am going to try to type this again without so many typos. I've been depressed too. I don't know whether to be incredibly sad for the people of New Orleans or euphoric that the Preznit is being revealed for the total and complete idiot that we know that he is. (He "knows" we will all be stronger for this. Even the ones who are dead I guess.)

Love the new banner. My brother is designing a new header for me. He's a pro, but I am a techno toddler, so that's only one of many things I need to learn. I'm shopping for a digital camera so I can enter that world too. This is a lot to learn at my age (which I am NOT going to reveal.)

One good thing. My friends all feel sure that writing the blog has relieved my creative energy to the point where I no longer feel the need to fire off angry letters to the editor and risk getting fired. So that's a good thing.

OK, you are interesting. "Techno toddler." Cute.
Do get the camera; it's so worth it. I'm having way too much fun with mine, and I donated my previous, less sophisticated one (but still pretty cool) to a friend in Hawaii.
Yes, it's a creative pressure valve. I need to get my husband back to blogging.
PS: I bet I'm older than you!
xx

I don't think you are older than me, but here's a test question. Were you this mad during the Vietnam war?

Yup.

Oh my goodness. I am shocked to find out that you are truly old, like me. At least we know there are two food bloggers over 30. (And we're not telling just how far over thirty are we?)

Hey you outlined your blog title on the header. I like it. I've been playing around with my header and description too, while I wait for my brother to do his magic thing with a logo.

Just made chicken breasts stuffed with a mixture of sour cream, mexican four cheese blend, and green chiles. Not a speck of Spike. It was fantastic if I do say so.

She's off Spike! Woo-hoo! :-)
I was interviewed by Jen at Life Begins etc. (yes, dammit, @ 30!!) yesterday for a story she's doing on the Eat Local Challenge. I told her I hadn't had a whisper of dried seasonings or spices in my mouth the whole month, other than salt and dried chili pepper flakes. I called it "rehab for the tastebuds."
I've got more logo tinkers up my sleeve, by the way. Fun.
