Pretty, Though

Damn, I forgot to eat these.
That's the problem with having a front-yard garden, when I spend most of my time in the back.
There were three.
They would have been yummy.
Weepy, weepy.

Love the color.

Ack! And after giving them so much TLC for a couple of years! Pretty, though.

Greg: Yeah, at least there's the visuals!

Zoomie: I think I take them for granted now. I checked several times earlier, and there was no sign of arties growing. Suckers snuck up on me. There will always be next year, now I know that they are producing.

Brett Emerson posted a photo of an arti in bloom at Contigo. As I said to him, "It's the plant that keeps on giving." The flowers are so beautiful!

Kudzu: They are so beautiful, I really don't even mind. Nature!

We ate so many in Venice, they are da bomb, as it were. I didn't realise they had such pretty flowers though. I may try growing a few myself.

The artichoke is a beautiful plant. I tried growing them and my bulbs were full of ants. Bastards

Chilebrown: Yeah, they can be really buggy. I once found an earwig in one and I HATE EARWIGS. A good soaking should help.
Best of all, by growing them in the unfenced front yard, I have *proven* that they are deer proof. Try again.

I love artichokes, both on my plate and in the yard. Bravo! They're lovely beasties to have in the garden.

Zia: Hi! Yeah, I'm glad I stuck with them. I nearly pulled them out after two years of nothing.

Mouse: I thought I had replied, but where is it?
Anyway, yes, it's not a difficult plant to grow, and so exotic. Don't you think it would be fun?

Feast for the eyes!

Lannae: It's a win-win. At least they don't get all ugly if you forget to eat them.

We are partners in earwig detestation. Ugh.

Zoomie: They are so Alien Ugly!

Yes, and almost unkillable. <>
