How Hot Was It?

It was so hot here yesterday, I fired up the oven to cool off the kitchen.
It was so hot, I had to hold my cold beverage in my hand. The drink coaster was set on "boil."
It was so hot, everything electric or electronic stopped working. Garage door. Phone. Internet service.
It was so hot, running a fan in the bedroom was like Satan laughing at me with stinky breath.
It was so hot — and this is true, eerie, sad — that bumblebees died in midair and fell out of the sky. We actually watched it happen and picked up their carcasses.

It was so hot here yesterday, I turned into a very unfriendly person. Oops.

bumblebees? sniff.

Glad to see that your little doggie survived the heat wave in good rig. Cora took it very easy yesterday.

Denise: I know. It was insane hot, especially for San Francisco. Are you nicer today? I am.

Alecto: Can you believe it? We must have witnessed at least a half a dozen of them fall. Some of them we had to euthanize. Horrible. (My merry self was glad it wasn't honeybees, though.)

Zoomie: By and large, dogs have good survival instincts. She spent a lot of time in her dandy new basket bed. Hallooo to Cora!

Hot dog it was hot! No more complaining about our summer. Pay back is a beach.

P.S. Bartlett appears to have a permanent smile. Very cute.

Greg: All I ask is a little warmth. This was mayhem. I believe most of my "crop" has died.

Zoomie: Pretty cute. I don't think I have told you: like Bean Sprout, she wags her tail when she dreams. EEEEE!

Yup - it sure was hot. In fact, it was so hot that my brain shorted out. All I did yesterday was play computer games and stare at the TV. Oh, and take several cool showers which would help for about 5 minutes. Let's hope that we don't have repeat any time soon. Or even ever.

Obviously brain is not back in working gear. I meant to also add that the doggie is simply adorable. That little white ruff under the chin is an added dash of adorable.

Wow, bumblebees dying? How sad....
Maybe the honeybees are dying from global warming then?
It IS really hot, especially compared to the rest of our CA summer.

So adorable! Nice that she has sweet dreams.

Nancy: It gets unbearable.
Oh, I can tell you have an enormous crush on my doggie!

Mouse: You shouldn't have read about the bees. It was weird. They all fell at once.
The dog -- she's getting sweeter day by day, now that she is ONE.

Biggles: That is illegal. Who do we sue for weather like that?

Indie.tea: Whoops, major overlook. Apologies.
Yeah, it was too weird. We've always had black bees in the netting of the patio overhang. All of a sudden, a whole tribe of them died and dropped.
I want to guess that this is not related to colony collapse disorder for honeybees. Please.

That is hot. You must have gotten the heatwave the South had been experiencing for 4 months. The South has "cooled" down to below 90F now, after a record breaking stretch of 90F+ consecutive days. Global warming? yes? no?

Lannae: It's cold and windy today. That is too short a cycle for such a drastic change. I blame George Bush.
