Iconic Breakfast, Detail

I'm still letting Cranky do a lot of the cooking, and he does love it.
I wince in my private, polite way, sometimes. But I never say anything out loud. Heck, if it were me cooking, any little flaws or failures would be on MY report card, and I'm grateful that Cranky only suggests, never complains.
So here's a perfect breakfast. Beautiful bacon. Sunny-side-up egg, a little on the jiggly side (eek). Hash brown taters, perfectly cooked, but needed much more grease.
Verdict? Clean Plate Club.
Next time I'm cooking.

But he does such lovely eggs.

Oh my that looks good! I had shredded wheat and banana. I'm so boring.

Gorgeous, and I'm not even an egg person.

Kailyn: Indeed, he is the Egg Man, koo koo ga joob.

Greg: However! That was Herb Caen's daily breakfast, and it done him well. ('Twas the cigarettes what done him in.)

Dog: We'll swap them out for something; scrambled tofu?:)

Looks good to me. I'd say you're lucky he wants to cook some of the time.

Kalyn: He's best at being a short-order cook, which often -- very often -- suits us. Only in the last five years (which coincides with this blog) has he become brave and bold. I'll take it!

mmm Hash Browns, it's like having chips for breakfast (you do need loads of fat though, loads). Double eek over the egg, I feel all light headed.

Mouse: I suppose you have hash browns at the Hash Brown Mouse House! Hee. Yes, loads of fat.
Sorry about the egg. Look away!

I can't tolerate soft eggs (sorry, folks, I know this is gastronomically incorrect) but I love the photo anyway. Do not criticize or dissuade Cranks in any way re: cooking. He has done a noble job and should consider to do so. I am just VERY happy to see you regaining your enthusiasm for the art, yourself. A really good sign. Chiz.

It is hard for me to believe that you have a private, polite way.
Oh well we still love you

Kudzu: I'm iffy on egg goo, myself, though I love a runny yolk.
Say, Sayer: Cranky is totally cool with little critiques. He wants to be the best, and we are kitchen collaborators. I'm so lucky to have him.
Yes, I am actually standing up in the kitchen without fainting!

Chilebrown: Cranky might agree with you. Don't tell Kudzu.

Well, after he "considers" to do so, Cranky should continue to do so.

And I didn't mean to sound so snippy: I just want him to feel good about what he has done so well.

Kudzu: Of course.

You can send Cranky over here to cook my breakfast - I'll take jiggly over overdone any day!

Beautiful! Btw, I tried your brown rice idea and it turned out quite lovely. I used a non-dairy coconut milk ice cream since I had that in the freezer already, and it make it quite creamy and delicious. I used some dried cherries and dried plums, and cooked them in with the rice. Chopped almonds, some cinnamon, and a splash of OJ at the end and...omg yum. Thanks for the inspiration. ^^

Nothing more perfect that perfect hashbrowns. I can never get them right, but my husband is an ace. This might be the only reason I keep him around.

I jest, of course...

J-in-Wales: I managed to eat the jiggly egg, but I'd prefer overcooked, frankly. I will send Cranky your way, however. :D

Melanie: *BLUSH* Wow, you really did it! It sounds a lot like what I did, though I'll bet you got a more tender version. I'm so glad you liked it. Let's do it again.

Roxie: These were close to perfect. You couldn't really complain, though you wanted more fat. Hang on to your talented hubz.
