This Was Not HERE Yesterday

The pear tree is in unfurl pageantry, all in one day. Today. I swear, I could stand there and watch the blossoms open, the way you can see bamboo grow. Since I took this picture this morning, there are now dozens more flowers.
The plum tree is simultaneously going bonkers, with similar white blooms.
Spring is so irrepressible, the pepper cress we were keeping in the fridge went into flower. In the fridge, in the dark.
I love Mother Nature.

Like my daughter said this morning, "This is the best time of year! Everything is so full of promise, about to explode."

Roxie: Dreamy, isn't it? Hopeful. Veins rushing.

Lannae: Totally FULL. Of WONDER.

I am in Denver, where yesterday it was 50 degrees. Today, a foot of snow. Tomorrow 50's again. It looked like your photo. Now it looks like frozen tundra. Ridiculous.

AML: Oh, Pookie. I know you are in Denver for a good reason. It will warm up.
I think we hit 70 degrees today. In March!

Spring is so Kool. We have iris that are springing up in our ying/yang.

Is it possible that I could submit an aritcle to 'pluto demoted'. I have so much to, Oh never mind.

That's purdy.

Mouse: Yeah, I got up in its grill for that micro-shot. No discernible fragrance; I love magnolias.
Spring feels so good. I feel like AIR. Anyway, happy fall to you.

Chilebrown: We have a yellow tulip in the front yard.
Pluto Demoted? That man won't write.

Dog: Merci!

I know that Pluto is over but I hate to admit it. I keep checking back, like some demented person who thinks _this_ time, there will be a new post...

But, I like your pretty spring pictures. The peach tree is making futures, too.

You have the pear tree. I've got the partrige in my back yard. Well.. California Quail anyway. They move so fast I've yet to get a picture.

I've been away for a week and when I looked in my back yard this morning, I saw that the pear tree, which had been bare branches when I left, is now full of blossoms. The birds know that it's spring as well - they wake me up every morning with their chirping.

Zoomie: And we have a yellow tulip in the front yard, far too cornball to photograph (and I'd have to get on my knees). Cheers to Peaches.

Mimi: It makes you want to get married, glue a few thousand of these all over your body for your dress. :)

Greg: How nice that you have quail. I think there are some in the nature preserves around us, but I never see them in the nabes.

Nancy: Is yours a Bartlett? Yeah, the birds! I sat outside yesterday basking in chirps. Amazing how good it makes you feel.

I am not sure what kind of pear tree it is. It was probably planted by my original landlord, many years dead. Since I'm clueless about gardening, I just look at it from my 3rd story apartment back window. I tried harvesting the pears one year but they were so hard and tasteless that it wasn't worth it. But the birds love the tree and every year, I see another "crop" of baby chicks hatch, grow up and fly away. That plus the blossoms is enough of a crop for me.

Nancy: Wait until the pears start falling off of their own accord; they will ripen further in the kitchen. Late July.
Or -- just leave them to the birdies. :)
