Farewell, Baby

I have no appetite. My doggie got terribly sick and the vet saw no good prognosis for him. He was in such a terrible state, we are actually relieved to let him go.
I don't know what to do. I don't know how to feel.
There are small toys all over the house; I guess I'll load them into a basket.

My heart hurt when I saw your post today. I am so so sorry that you both are experiencing this loss.

Our animals are such wonderful companions to us. It is no wonder that we grieve so, when their absence leaves a void!

Your posts have always reflected that you are a very kind person who loves life. I really appreciated seeing that fulfilled in how you lovingly chose the best thing for your doggie even though it hurt you.

Please know that people care about what your are going through!

Thanks for 5+ years of delightful posts about your little Bean Sprout. I am glad to have patted him in person once or twice - he was a dear little guy. Our hearts go out to you and Cranky. It's okay to cry - he'd have licked your tears.

I'm so sorry. I know exactly how you feel. I had to put my beloved Labrador down just over a year ago. I'm still not ready for another dog.

With deepest sympathy,
Cali

I'm so sorry. I read your blog often, and I don't think I've ever commented, but I just wanted to take a moment to express my sympathy. I've always loved looking at the photos you've posted in the past of your little dog. I know he had a great life. And I hope that after some time passes, a new little companion will be lucky enough to have you as an owner.

CC I am so very sad for you and can hardly write for tears. I know how much Bean Sprout meant to you and Cranky. I'm so glad that I got to meet him and that Sam was able to give him a hug from me recently.
I'm sending you warm hugs and I'm thinking of you both. x

Oh my gosh! :( :( So so sorry for your loss. The little Sprout was such a happy delightful spot in this world!!! Everytime I saw that little black nose in pictures it put a smile on my face. Losing an animal suddenly is quite emotionally shocking, I had to put down my cat three years ago and I'm still not ready for a new animal. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him personally and electronically. My thoughts are with you and Cranky.

Poor, poor wee Bean Sprout. Nothing I could type would make it any better. I'm just so terribly sorry it happened - I'm guessing you're feeling a well Sprout shaped hole, somewhere in the chest region.

Ooooo, Cookie. I am so so so very sorry to read this. I am a real-life friend of DancingMorganMouse and I came to your bloggo due to a curious comment I noticed on Ms Mouse's bloggo from Pink Granite.

This is such a horrible time for you and if I had a wand, I'd wave it and make everything OK again. It sounds a paltry subsitution but I shall send you a thousand hugs and millions of kind thoughts thru the ether instead.

I've been thinking about you all week. I try to tell myself we're lucky to have them, for however long - but I'm pretty sure that doesn't make it any easier. I'm so sorry.

cookiecrumb said...

You are all so wonderful to send your thoughts, to struggle to make up a new sentence for "I'm sorry." I cling to every one. The bizarre suddenness of his death almost makes it easier -- no painful lingering, no expensive drug regimens... Still, so sad.

And, MG? He's running with the wolves if they're from the Mani-Pedi Pack.

Didn't say they couldn't be stylish or dainty wolves! Love ya and big hug.
