Bwwahahaha that's too good.

Amy: A little, dare I say, happy. Happy Inauguration Day to all.

Melissa: And whewwww.

Tea: Couple of years? It's been almost a decade of horror!
Thanks for the wishes, and best to you, too.

Lannae: I showered and deodorized and all, then settled in to watch. And I got nervous sweat. Yow. I've been brutalized.

Sam: Talk about change. When Obama was sworn in, I shouted "Now get to work! May the gray hairs begin!"

Susan: Isn't it?!

Ohmydog that is GREAT

is it too early for surrender monkey bubbly?

El: You know it's earlier on the Left Coast, and even so, we toasted the swearing in with Sonoma bubbly. Bring it on.

Lovely day, lovely day, lovely day!

Love the new banner.

Loved the swearing in, but that poem? That's when I almost lost it completely. Throughout it all, I kept thinking, "Where's my 'Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing'"? And then it appeared at the beginning of the benediction. *sigh* I'm exhausted yet too wired to sleep.

Woo Hoo!

Zoomie: There's a lilt in the air. There's an air in the lilt. Yes.

Kailyn: That poem. Adagio hip-hop? What was that? Cranky said "I hate poetry I can understand."

Kalyn: And all the other vowels!!

Aaaaaaaaahhh. That's better. Much better. You're Glad and You Eat.

Kel: I'm still sober! And the world is so relieved. xx

Tammy: I'll give him a few months. Then, maybe I WILL change my name! :D

Happy Celebrations to you all from a mad Aussy that got up at 3am to cook pancakes and watch the regime change. Fabulous stuff! I loved the poem. It made me think of the 'patchwork quilt' of American voices. I even woke up my nine year old to hear the speech and see the crowds. Gotta get them politically astute early, I say!

Happy, happy Day! I had to visit! Countdown over!

The best day since the election! Understand mad! But today joy bubbles over! I keep watching the address with friends stragling over who couldn't see it earlier... love the DVR! And I cry each time!

I thought about you this morning and wondered, "Is she still going to be mad in 2009? What happens now?" The picture is hilarious!

My blueberries and yogurt this morning couldn't match the bubbly and scrambled eggs I ate yesterday as I watched the inaguration festivities, but my excitement hasn't abated.

Yes, to steal a line from that sexy song they danced to, "At last!!"

Tana Butler said...

So now you have to change your name to "I'm Still Mad at Bush for Fucking Things Up So Horribly but Just Look at Mr. Obama Dance with His Wife"?

Well, truly, good things come to those who wait.

cookiecrumb said...

Jen: Wow, you got up early to watch? Thanks for the support and the spirit. We'll do our best for you.

Catherine: Countdown over. Now the work begins.

Anna: I misread your comment, but it came out good -- "joy bubbles," what we toasted the change with.

EB: ;-)

Italian Dish: I guess I'll always be mad about something. It's fun!

Kudzu: From a mad perspective (can't help myself), I found absolutely NOTHING to criticize about the whole day, from the choice of DiFi as emcee, to the clothes, to the entertainment. And it went like clockwork. The only flub was by a Rethug.

cookiecrumb said...

Tana: YES! That's it. Cranky and I are laughing.
