No, Thanks, I'll Take My Own Leek

Sorry for the bleached-out snapshot. One of those quickie sidewalk fly-bys. I just had to get a picture of one of the worst examples of restaurant misspelling (which is sometimes cute, sometimes naive, but come on!).
Anyway, I'm having properly spelled potato-leek soup soon, maybe tomorrow. I'm thinking of tweaking (or should that be "tweeking"?) it with the addition of a little blue cheese. I already found out that blue cheese is surprisingly good in potato soup. This time, I'm just going to leak in a few leeks from the garden and see how that turns out.
I'm predicting a winning streek.

Leaks. Heh -- almost appropriate, considering our weather. Potato soup is on my horizon, too. Meant to make some last night but hankered after a big baked potato, so the russet went thataway.

Yum more soup! Frankly, I can't think of many creamy things that a touch of blue cheese couldn't help. (Savory things that is.) Hope you leak your recipe though...always could use some tweeking of my own b/c we have that soup weekly in winter.

So that's Potato & Piddle soup - yuck. You know when I see little errors like that, Mr Brown has to hold may hands to stop me doing something about it ;)

Oh God. I'm going to have to go and get some blue cheese - that sounds incredible. Strangely enough I just saw the same mistake yesterday at a bakery. Really, people. Come on.

I can't wait to peak at what you make :D

(But don't you mean blew cheese?)

Kudzu: We spend a lot of suppers munching on baked potatoes. So easy, so happy.

FastGrow: Yeah, soup is good food. I'll monitor my soup doings so that I can give you an idea of what goes in and how it goes. I'm not a precise recipe writer, no. But you can get the idea and take it from there, yes.

Morgan: Like you, I'm a rabid editor. I get upset. But what can we do?

Michelle: Oh, I hope you'll try this and let me know.

Anita: I'll give everyone a sneek peak. I think the bloo chease will be fine if I don't overdo it. :D

That's pretty bad. I always get aggravated when I see chipotle as chipolte, but at least it doesn't conjure up an image of someone peeing in my soup.

How unappetizing! LOL! So where was that? If it's somewhere local, I'd like to know!

Lol, I love leek and potato soup so I'll be interestind to hear how the blue cheese turns out.

Ha but did they mean it (dictionary definition of leak="accidentally lose or admit contents, esp. liquid or gas, through a hole or crack")!!! Well could be after leek soup!! Sorry to bring down the tone of your blog CC.

Mmm, blue cheese...interesting. we always put kale in ours.

Also, leak soup is better than "Chicken Poodle," which showed up on our school lunch menu once...

Fap, what about bacon? Finish with bacon, bacon. Bacon?

Biggles

Tammy: Yes, well, that would be pee soup. Great with a dab of "marscapone."

Zoomie: This is why we walk around with our little cameras everywhere we go. Photo op.

PE: I recommend depends! xox

Catherine: Yeah, it's on fourth st. in SR. Broken Drum, I think.

Beccy: I'm looking forward to it myself, and now the esteemed Biggles has weighed in with the coup de grace, so I'll let you know how it all adds up. Mm!

ChrisB: Am I sensing you might not like leek soup?

Emily: Chicken Poodle Soup!!! I almost want to eat that; it makes me smile for some dumb reason.

Biggles: You're on. I mean the bacon's on. Cranky asks me to thank you for the suggestion. Ohmy.

CC I love leek and potato soup (so does my mother) and I have been making a lot lately!

ChrisB: Aha! I wish I knew how you make yours... but I suppose all recipes are basically the same. Soup is so soothing.

A few peppery rocket leaves woud be nice too. And maybe garnished with roasted walnut halves.

I can't believe I'm not the only one who gets aggro about misspelling and mispronunciations of food words! Or any words, for that matter! I even start yelling and fly off the handle a bit.

You win today's Did You Ever Know That You're My Hero award. Gratz!

Barbara: What are you trying to do, health me up? I do love the rocket idea, but we let our patch go to the compost heap after a frantic summer. I suspect I can grow it year-round...

Heather: It's a sickness. We should be made to wear scarlet letters, perfectly spelled. :D
