Girl on Film

Yow!
Can you say "hair product"? I musta had six or seven different hair products holding up that 80s do.
This photo was sent to me recently by an old friend — yes, we go that far back. Thank you, KT, for digging it up. No, really!
The dog (my only excuse for this post is Weekend Dog Blogging) on my shoulders is Chili at about age two or three; he went on to live nearly eighteen years.

Love the glasses and the big shoulders, too. You seem to have a history of really, really cute doggies!

dig the glasses and belt! hight of 80s fashion, you were!! Could've starred in St. Elmo's Fire! Were you mad and eating then?

This is FABULOUS! You hip, swanky, take-no-prisoners, rock-steady hottie, you! Can I use it for a screen saver? ;-)

Oh, sweetheart. I'm still digging for pictures of me with my full-on Flock of Seagulls 'do with bangs down to my chest. You wanna talk about product? It's on. Then came the flat-top with the bangs and rat tail. Less product. Currently I'm sporting the on-and-off popular fauxhawk. What can I say? I'm a fashion plate.

Oh my gosh, were you full on '80s hip! The hair, the jacket, the shoulder pads, the belt!

Oh, yeah. The dog's cute too.

Wow, you were completely the 80's fashion plate. Let's see what you have on, the Annie Lennox hair, the Valley Girl shirt, Duran Duran Jacket with shoulder pads and rolled sleeves, large red plastic framed glasses and I hope those were straight leg pants. Did you have the Madonna ankle boots too?

You realize that you are a brave woman to show this photo of 80s fashion.

BTW, apparently I am stuck in the 80s, so I think your outfit is hip! LOL! Really though, thanks for a little flashback chuckle. We all have photos like this in the closet.

Cookie you are so pretty, even in the '80's gear.

Yeah, when you've got it, flaunt it! You ARE (still) totally cool. And you got the most square inches of see-good space from those spectacles. Miss ya Cookieeeeee!

That is a cool photo and another cute dog. Hope Bean Sprout doesn't see this and get jealous of Chili!! Of course you could always re-create the photo!!!

CC,
Were you wearing boots?

Pam: Big shoulders? It looks like I stuffed a whole dog bed into my jacket.

Stacie: Not mad enough back then. I was just fabulous and eating.

Jennifer: You like that edgy look I'm giving the animal?

Sean: Gel off! Spritzer smackdown! Makes me want to run my hands through your stiffened hair.

Shuna: Snicker. Can't wait. Get your scanner!

Tea: I must have been aware that I was doing full-on 80s, but I guess it didn't embarrass me. I'd be ashamed now, but - I loved the 80s!

Lannae: It's like you were peeking in my closet. I think I'm wearing black synthetic trou in this picture, but most often I wore leggings. And, yes, the little black lace-up Madonna boots.

Barbara: Aw, that's too nice. I look longingly at this picture and think "was my skin really that dewy once?"

Leena: Just faking it.

DMM: I say bring back the 80s! Music and all.

KT: Thanks again for sending it. Miss you too lots!

ChrisB: Are you suggesting that I Photo Shop Bean Sprout into the picture? He's less than half the size of Chili; wouldn't be a perfect fit. :D

Monkey Gland: Yeah, cause you wish it was you throwing the paint!

Kevin: I don't want this site to get all 1-800, but -- of course I was wearing boots!

No wonder Chili was comfortable up there... still, one must admit the outfit was faboo for its day!

I'm coming late to this party, but oh. my. god. What a wave of nostalgia. I think I might have had something like that jacket.

I think you look better now, to tell you the truth.

Jamie: Never too late for an 80s revival. I still have my plastic bracelets. Can't imagine why I wasn't wearing them in the picture.

SFMike: Such comforting words. I really am beginning to feel at home in my experienced old body. You're pretty cute for a (mumble)-something, too.

LOL! So you guys used to hang out with duran duran too! well, geez! sorry i missed you at the FM.

That is hilarious! I have fond memories of jelly shoes, hot pink telephone cord belts and my Baby Huey bangs (held aloft with half a can of Aqua Net). You were workin' it, girl!

I was thinking more of a now photo (same pose); however, if you can do clever things with photo shop we are in for a treat!!!

cookiecrumb said...

Catherine: Yeah. What other reason could I possibly give for naming this blog "I'm Mad and I'm Hungry Like the Wolf"? (Oh, wait, that's not what I named it. Damn.)
Sorry we missed you too! We didn't go Wednesday after all.

S'Kat: Hmm. Maybe I am beginning to feel emabarrassed after all... I can't tell you how many colors of jellies I had! (OK, four, I think. Not too bad.)

ChrisB: Now I get it! Good idea, thanks.

Hey! I never realized you were the rapper Vanilla Ice! I always wondered what he got up to. Are you happier as a woman?

KathyF: Who said I was a woman? :D
