Chronicles of a Meal

Guess what I ate for lunch today while being serenaded by this sweet fellow. We sat in soft, cushioned chairs in this dark room, grateful to be sheltered, because it was very cold outside. My meal was warm and buttery. I was ever so happy to be there (although at times I was frightened, but everything turned out fine).

Riddles...

I would be frightened too if a man with ears like those serenades me naked! It must be really warm.

No, mae, he wouldn't hurt a flea. He would be your protector, and he would eventually put a crown on your head.

did you see my name in the credits?
i am not surprised if you didnt spot it.
they got it wrong.

for the first time in my life i was credited as samantha instead of sam on a movie

Y'know, I knew you were on the team, but I failed to watch the credits. Even though when the movie started, I said out loud, "My friend helped make this." (Loudly!)
I really, really liked it though (actually, a bit to my surprise; didn't like the book), so I'll buy the DVD and look for "Samantha."
What did you work on? My cousin did the "sand" in Nemo, so I understand the jobs may be compartmentalized.
(Better than LOTR, IMO.)

One more thing! Remember when the beaver says, "I'm cranky" (or Mrs. Beaver says, "He's cranky")? Cranky loved it!! He said, "No, I am!"

I give up. Obviously I am not up on my movie trivia. I hope this is not something I absolutely SHOULD have known. Is it TLTW&TW?

Kalyn: Well, we all know it's a movie now, because of Sam's remark. But. Yes! It is!! You are right.
So: What did I eat for lunch?? That's the quiz, not the name of the movie.

Butter-coated Turkish Delight!

you are not one of those people who eats in the movie theatre are you?

I'll say jelly bellies.

b'gina: Yes. I'm boring and transparent and obvious.
mrs. d: Funny! Cranky is sitting here laughing with me. I tried to find an image of Turkish Delight from the movie, but gave up...
sam: No, I'm not, but someone behind me was having a hot dog.

Wow, wouldn't have known what movie this picture was from but as soon as saw The Lion the Witch in Kalyn's comment I knew turkish delight was on your mind. I used to sleep and dream that stuff:)

I knew it was Narnia before I saw Sam's comment! And I always sit through the credits. I'll have to see the movie so I can see Sams name and say loudly "I know her"

You'll HAVE to see the movie. I'm not even a fantasy buff, but this was thrilling and engrossing and beautiful.

We've been re-reading it to our boys at bedtime over the past couple weeks and they are sooooooo stoked to go see it during their break.

Have you ever seen the John Frankenheimer movie Seconds (starring Rock Hudson[?!])? If you have then you know why I'm bringing it up in regard to this post.

If not, you should rent it.

Rozanne: I haven't, and I don't, so I will!
