If Joe Lieberman does leave the party and runs as an independent "Democrat", I'd like to invite him to quit pretending to be a Scoop Jackson Democrat. Jackson could be a grouchy loser, but to the best of my knowledge, running against the nominated Democrat is a stunt he did not pull.
