Well, yeah. Like how about some Rovian intrigue — such as why Kapitan Karl has been "absent" lately from any events starring the boy-heir, Prince Incurious George. Could we be looking at a frog march? Ooh, delicious.
But, nah. Let's talk tomatoes.
This is the time of year when the few remaining ripe tomatoes left on the vines are hanging from those weird, stiff green twigs where the other 'maters have already been picked; odd-looking sticks that remind me of fish skeletons. (There are still some little greenies out there, which I think will ripen, and I am getting some lovely new yellow blossoms now, but I don't know if there's enough good weather left this year for them to set fruit — especially anything that will turn red).
Hey — at least I didn't talk about the gooey green soup I made yesterday. Not entirely successful. But I might talk about it tomorrow.

Have I ever mentioned that you are one heck of a photographer?
Those have got to be the most dazzlingly beautiful tomatoes ever!
I was thinking of pulling up my bedraggled (and slatternly) tomato vines, which are in the front of our house, and possibly be broadcasting some sort of dubious statement about us, but somehow your post has made me want to leave them there until we get a frost (which could be another month). I know there's almost no chance anything else will ripen, but you've given me a glimmer of hope.
Oh, dolling, I'm not a good photog. I just have a nifty camera, and the "film" is free, so I keep shooting until I find the best shot... It's like "You always find your lost item in the last place you look." I find my best shot in the last shot I take.
Hang in there with the tomatoes! I'm feeling hopeful for you -- and tonight, I had another tomato sandwich.
It really is a great photo. Love how the light is hitting the tomatoes just so. Also love the link to Americablog, one of my very favorites.
Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit, ribbit, ribbit....
Oh how I loves me a good frog march.
I envy you your tomatoes. Mine got the blight and need to be pulled up and sent to the dump.
i think your photos have just gotten stunning recently.
Guess the class paid off.
Don't blame the camera tho' - it's YOU creating all this goodness.
conversely i am not usually happy with my first shot, take a dozen more and then end up using the first one.
Wow, gee (blush), thanks, everyone. You know, that was just outdoor light and what an old photography teacher calls the "wet-belly" approach -- meaning you get down there on the level with the subject you're shooting, and sometimes the grass is dewy!
BTW, I only just now figured out how to focus manually [shame]. It turns out there are TWO buttons I have to press, not just the first one I stumbled upon.
