Bad Case of Rain Brain

Is Bean Sprout depressed?
It seems that he might be, a little. He knows how to cheer himself up with toys, his appetite's fine, he's getting some exercise... but his internal calendar is seriously messed up.
He's supposed to be playing on the patio! He's supposed to be watching huge scary geese at the lagoon! He's supposed to be sneaking around with me, inside my purse (I drape a nice, discreet scarf over his head when we go somewhere off limits).
But no. Like me, he's feeling emotionally sodden.
He's flopped on the pink blanket with barely enough vavoom to be cute for the camera.

  1. Poor Bean Sprout. This weekend has been sunny, so bring Bean Sprout out and get him some rejuvenating sunshine! We all need it.

  2. Okay, okay, okay, there's only one thing for it. We're heading down to the city for dinner on Tuesday, staying at SFO, and leaving for Hawaii in the morning. We'll pick up the little fellow on the way.

  3. PE: Mm. Not so much sun in Marin!

JohnG: You are, aren't you!! School vacation and all. I get it. But do you know how difficult animal quarantines are in Hawaii? So we'll hang on to the little fellow.

  4. Oh, poor Beansprout. How lucky he is to have someone offer him a magic blanket to make life easier,

I'm waiting for mine. (Like the one my grandmother used to cover me with, for sweet dreams.) Till then I will light a candle for brighter days.

  6. Maybe you'll have to get him one of those special lamps for people suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder. Poor guy.

  9. I was just considering putting up the same post at MH. Don't wanna cook, don't care. I nearly considered going home to get my Mt. Bike and go for a cruise. Then it started raining, again/still.
So I went to Lousiana Fried Chicken. Feh.

  11. Word.

Trying out new fancy wide carriage printer. Wored old one away.

Think I'll just slit my wrists for dinner and let the family drink.

  12. Save your Precious Bodily Fluids. Order out. (But, oy, what a martyr.)
    Cool: Wide carriage.

  13. Been doing too much 'out' type food, plus going out. Zachary is coming of age and asked to try a philly cheese steak, so Saturday I took him. No peppers or onions of course, but that's how we start out. After the cheese steak he said that next he would like to try a real taco, so we went out Sunday. And last night was a frozen pizza. I'm thinking tonight might be a ham steak with mashed taters. I dunno, we'll see.

  16. While Bean Sprout is a perfectly white Maltese, he tends to reflect pinks. Jamie at 10 signs asked me if we dye him pink! Yipes.

  17. I just watched a show with Jane Goodall on animal communication. They can sense when we're ill, you know. Maybe he knows you have a cold. A few weeks ago I had a stomach bug and stayed on the couch all day. Bailey left me alone for once, never whining to go out or have a snack the way she usually would. We just sat around and watched the history channel together.

  18. Yeah, Kathy, I'm all about animal communication. Bean Sprout knows just how to talk to us. The other day he wanted to go outside, so he went and got a stuffed animal (his role-play model for himself) and carried it to the door.

Yadda, yadda, yadda. No, really!
